If there is one thing I can tell owners to help them in their training, it’s this … (but first, shameless plug, be sure to like & follow 🫶🏼) … keep your dog’s leash on! One of the best ways to help our dogs understand thresholds, boundaries, manners, and rules is to have the guidance of a leash on when we need it. This can be in the house OR outside! 🐾 Put your dog's leash on BEFORE you let them out of their crate to help a calm exit. 🐾 Have your dog’s leash on when company comes over to help deter jumping. 🐾 Have your dog's leash on when they go out back to potty to help solidify recall. Remember, your leash is a tool you can use all the time, not just for walks! Happy training 🩷🐾🤍

This is one of my favorite ways to practice accountability with my dogs!

Place is one of the most important commands you can teach your dog (in my opinion). It is one of the first commands I teach my board and train and private lessons dogs (and even dogs just here for boarding 🤫). It gives your dog something to do to control their mind, helps them settle and calm down quicker, keeps them out of trouble, helps prevent unwanted jumping on guests, and so much more 🐾
